/// About
Agile Design Works was born out of a love of all things mechanical.
It's in our DNA, you might say…
The idea behind Agile came out of necessity; while busy working in R&D, I saw a real need to increase the resources and capabilities in my department, but realized that the production-optimized framework in place greatly hindered the type of organic growth needed to quickly and successfully develop new products. The thought of functioning as an engineering consultant that could work outside the system to get things done entered my mind, and sparked the genesis of what would become Agile Design Works.
I knew I wanted to be a mechanical engineer before knowing what one was. From a very young age I would draw, dream, build, rebuild, and create designs on a daily basis. Cars and motorcycles were my obsession, and I gladly turned wrenches at any and every opportunity. My father founded A&A Gear Inc., a custom gear machine shop, and on weekends I would work with him, learning how to run machinery, measure and deburr parts, prepare shipments, and perform mechanical tasks properly. “The long way is the short way” he would - and still does - say, and it serves as a cautionary reminder to avoid the quick, lazy, and thoughtless path that ultimately leads to mistakes (and the wasted time spent fixing them).
My background is varied, hands-on, and practical, and I never shy away from a challenge. I have been a part of race teams, robotic competitions, international trade shows, and other business ventures. I have extensive experience operating manual mills & lathes in addition to programming & running CNC machines. I have developed custom motorcycle parts, complete supercharger kits, a variety of testing machines, automated robotic systems, hydraulic grips, tooling, and fixtures. I have rebuilt engines, hand fabricated prototype parts, carried out R&D testing, and swapped all sorts of motors into all sorts of vehicles. I use tools like parametric solid modeling (CAD) and finite element analysis (FEA) to help design complicated machines, come up with a conceptual renderings, and create prototype parts.
Engineering is my passion, and I can’t wait for what’s next…

What does all of this mean for you?
Well, working with Agile Design Works is an opportunity to grow your business in a new way with an experienced and driven partner, to get a lifelong idea created when you do not have the means or ability to do so yourself, to seek the outside opinion of those who have no interest in copying and following the herd, and to know that your project is in the hands of doers that love finding ways to get things done.
Resources are finite; joining forces with Agile Design Works allows you to focus on what matters without having to change infrastructure or devote substantial amounts of personal, engineering, or production time to a new project. Our belief in setting up clear goals at the outset and working collaboratively and iteratively with you on new ideas is paramount, reducing wasted time and money spent going down the wrong path.
